BE A MADCAT VOLUNTEER!
MadCat is an all-volunteer organization -- Help keep the arts strong in the Bay Area and get involved today! We are looking for committed, responsible people to help MadCat with various aspects of the organization and preparation for the festival.
Get college credit, do an independent study or just get great experience in the work world by interning for the MadCat Film Festival.

We need volunteers in the following categories...

YEAR ROUND FUNDRAISING: MadCat is looking for a grant writer to help research and write grants. Prior experience is a plus, strong written skills a must! Be prepared to intern for at least 3 months.

WEB SITE MAINTENANCE: Are you a wiz at HTML? Help keep the MadCat web site updated. You must have access to a computer to do these updates. MadCat will email the information and you will do your magic! Although this is not a constant project MadCat will need to update the website at least 4 times a year. We need someone who can do this and feels confident with HTML. There will be no design changes needed.

TOUR COORDINATOR: Help organize and book the MadCat tour. Research Universities, Art Houses and Museums that might be interested in MadCat’s touring programs. Create relationships with venues around the country and set up screenings. Help spread the word about MadCat and expand the festival to audiences around the country and perhaps around the world.

 


PRE-FESTIVAL OUTREACH COORDINATOR: Help get the word out about MadCat to a variety of audiences by working with local non-profits and other organizations in the Bay Area.

PRESS: someone with experience in promoting events and pitching articles. Good written and interpersonal skills a must!

FLYERING: Help put up posters and hand out flyers announcing MadCat for our festival in September. This is something you can do on your own or with friends. It’s a great way to meet people and spread the word about MadCat on a grass roots level.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE: MadCat needs office help in the following areas: database entry, updating mailing lists, outreach to filmmakers and to assist with mailings.

AT THE FESTIVAL SET UP CREW: Help us out at the screenings of MadCat in the Bay Area. We need folks to help set up the screening area at El Rio our outdoor venue: put out rugs, benches and chairs, set up the sound equipment, film screen and projectors. *We need folks that can commit to two or more screenings in September.

USHERS/TICKET TAKERS: We need volunteers at all the venues to: take tickets, sign folks up on the mailing list and hand out programs. Please see our venues regarding when we need you!
